Koločep

The smallest and the closest Elaphite Islands from Dubrovnik stands Kolocep. Divided by two main villages Gornje (Upper) Celo and Donje (Lower) Celo, Kolocep was historically famous for shipbuilding for the Old Republic of Dubrovnik. Surrounded by sandy beaches along the Island and covered by stunning natural pine forest, Kolocep provides an ultimate experience for relaxation. The Island holds the oldest churches on Elaphite dating as far back as 9th century (St.Sergius,St Nicholas,Church of the Holy Trinity). The islands is a dream spot for divers and keen swimmers with Blue Cave being a must see location for many of the daily tours from Dubrovnik.

Šipan

The largest of the Elaphite Islands and favourite resort by wealthy and influential people from Dubrovnik’s history, stands the beautiful Šipan. Connected by road there are two main villages each surrounded by stunning bay. The small village Sudjuradj where most of the local’s ships dock and Sipanska Luka on the western side of the Island. The architecture of beautiful stone houses dating from 16th century showcase the prosperity that Republic Ragusa had at the time. Most of these houses are inherited and still owned by local families of Dubrovnik. Built in 11th and 16th century respectively, the churches of St Peter and the Church of the Holy Spirit are the most important buildings on the Island. For free time you can enjoy amazing sea food at the local favourite restaurant “Kod Marka”.

Lopud

Located in the middle of the Elaphite Islands, we have the crown jewel Lopud. Car-free green oasis is home to over 200 inhabitants, and it is economically most developed in the archipelago. Nurtured by Greeks and later named after the Roman settlement “Lafota” the Island is under the rule of ever-changing Dubrovnik’s regime since 11th century. Influence by those cultures can be seen all over the island’s architecture through the small town in the Lopud Bay. Located on the other side of the Island is the famous sandy beach “Šunj”. Favourite spot for the locals and tourist is only 25 minutes’ walk from the bay! While enjoying the stunning nature of the islands there is a few amazing historical sights to visit. St Mary of the Cave and St Nicolas churches from the 16th century, remains of the Rectors Palace and the local monastery will be a true treat for the history aficionados .Lopud is also famous for its one of a kind botanical garden with specimens all over the world named Dordic-Mayneri Park after the family of the last rector of the Island.
